In order to help ease the Juniors' stress regarding this year, we'll be writing college essays in September (Seniors, see alternate assignment, below). The due dates for the following steps will be discussed in class.
1. Admissions essays are tough to write. We'll talk in class about how best to approach your own essay, but before then, please read the following brief articles:

B. Writing Studio , Duke University
2. Do the brainstorming suggestions on page 2 of the Duke article and bring them to class, along with the admissions essay question(s) from at least one university to which you plan to apply.
